Frank’s earliest drawings use intricate detail and patterns, where geometric forms and elaborate lines create texture and a sense of perspective which are not apparent in later works. These works are based on poems she wrote herself, and also by poets such as Coleridge and Keats, and the Rubaiyat of Omar Khayyam. They have a strong narrative dimension.
