‘Hannah Frank’

A selection of drawings, prints and sculptures were on show at the Riverside Gallery in the picturesque highland town of Inverness in the north of Scotland. An excellent review of this exhibition was written by the Journalist Georgina Coburn.


 

‘Hannah Frank’

April – July 2005. Garnethill Synagogue, Hill St, Glasgow.

A set of Hannah Frank framed prints were on show at Garnethill Synagoge. This Synagogue is an astoundingly beautiful Romanesque building built in 1879 and was designed by John McLeod. It is also the home of the Scottish Jewish Archives Centre – the publishers of the Hannah Frank art book.

24th May 2005. 1pm-2pm. Burslem Library, Wedgewood Institute, Queen Street, Burslem, Stoke on Trent.

These event were an illustrated talk by Fiona Frank, the artists niece. They were hosted for the West of Scotland Council of Christians and Jews.

 


“Tree-mendous”

Hannah Frank drawings – including two never seen before – featured in a thematic ‘trees’ exhibition. Other artists featured in this exhibition included Ray and Zoë Atkins, John Constable RA, Alan Cotton, Trever Felcey, Ben Hartley, Francis Hewlett, William A. Marting, Paul Mount, Kenneth Newton, Adrian Ryan and Henry Scott Tuke RA.

A free talk was given by Fiona Frank on Friday 3rd June from 1pm – 2pm.

‘Jewish Book Week On Tour’

Sunday 13th March 2005 2-4pm. UJIA, Eastwood House, Eastwoodmains Road, Giffnock, Glasgow.

Fiona Frank, the artist’s niece and editor of the new book on Hannah Frank’s 75 year artistic career, was on the ‘Scottish Jewish Archives Centre’ table from 2-4pm at the ‘Jewish Book Week On Tour’. This was a Sunday afternoon event at the UJIA.


Fine Art, Design and Antiques Fair

There was an opportunity to see two Hannah Frank sculptures (Woman with Bird and Reclining Figure) at this Fine Art, Design and Antiques Fair.

Glasgow Society of Women Artists ‘Exhibition of Small Works of Art’

There were three Hannah Frank sculptures and one of her early signed prints featured in this exhibition composed of works of painting, sculpture, ceramics, textiles and jewellery.

  • This exhibition also included an informal talk by Fiona Frank on Friday 18th February 2005 from 2pm – 3.30pm. It was a talk about the life and work of Hannah Frank, with a chance to see some of the artists private diaries and albums.

Hannah Frank, A Glasgow Artist

4th – 14th January 2005. Newcastle-under-Lyme Library, Ironmarket

An exhibition of signed prints from the 1920’s, 30’s and 40’s.

On Saturday 8th January 2005 from 2pm – 3.30pm at Newcastle-under-Lyme Library there was an informal talk with the artists niece Fiona Frank about the life and work of Hannah Frank. There was also a chance to see some of the artist’s private diaries and albums.

 


 

Hannah Frank at the Torrance Gallery

There were four Hannah Franks (two sculptures and two original drawings) at the Edinburgh Festival exhibition of the Glasgow Society of Women Artists at the Torrance  Gallery.

Three Hannah Frank original drawings were on show at Falmouth Art Gallery in their thematic ‘Suns and Moons’ exhibition which ran from the 24th April to 12th June 2004.


Hannah Frank, 75 years a Glasgow Artist

Friday 10th June 2004, 12.35pm – 1.15pm. Storey Institute, Meeting House Lane, Lancaster

An illustrated talk by Fiona Frank, the artist’s niece. This talk was part of Lancaster University’s Lunchtime Lecture series organised by the Department of Continuing Education.


 

 ‘Hannah Frank – a Glasgow Artist’

25th April – 5th June 2004. Lancaster City Museum and Art Gallery, Market Street, Glasgow

Many of Hannah Frank’s original drawings, prints and sculptures – some seen for the first time – were on show at Lancaster City Museum and Art Gallery. The Lancaster exhibition closed on 5th June 2004 after a successful 6 week run. The exhibition then toured the UK over the next five years and finished in Glasgow in 2008, the year of Hannah Frank’s 100th birthday.

Hannah Frank at the Harrogate International Conference Centre
